Dai County Bao'en Temple

Dai County Bao'en Temple is a cultural heritage site protected by Dai County.

Bao'en Temple is located in Nieying Village, Nieying Town, Dai County. According to extant inscriptions, it was built in the fourth year of the Yuanyou era during the Yuan Dynasty (1317) and underwent multiple renovations during the Qing Dynasty. Facing south and situated to the north, it covers an area of 2,878 square meters. The central axis features the Mahavira Hall, flanked by east and west side halls. The existing structures date back to the Qing Dynasty, while the rest are newly built. The Mahavira Hall has a stone-paved platform that is 14.95 meters wide, 8.4 meters deep, and 0.55 meters high. It has five bays in width and four rafters in depth, featuring a single-eave flush-gable roof, a front slope with a hip-and-gable roof, and a rear slope with a flush-gable roof. The structure follows a five-rafter front-corridor design, with four-panel six-leaf lattice doors installed on the front eaves of the central, intermediate, and side bays. The temple houses one Yuan Dynasty stele and two Qing Dynasty stelae. In 2002, it was designated as a county-level cultural heritage site by the People's Government of Dai County.
