Ruins of the Zifu Temple

The ruins of the Zifu Temple are a cultural heritage site protected by Dai County.

The ruins of the Zifu Temple are located southeast of Exi Village, Eko Town, Dai County. The date of its establishment is unknown. According to surviving inscriptions, it was renovated in the 38th year of the Qianlong reign during the Qing Dynasty (1773) and refurbished in the 24th year of the Republic of China (1935). The temple was destroyed in the 1970s, and only the ruins remain as a Qing Dynasty relic. Built against a mountain and facing south, it covers an area of 2,379 square meters. On the cliff face to the west of the ruins is a 1.6-square-meter cliff inscription that reads “The mountain cliffs embrace beauty, yielding extraordinary talents,” written by the Lüfan Jueshan Taoist priest. Within the ruins, there is one iron bell from the Qing Dynasty, two Qing Dynasty merit steles, and one Republic of China merit stele.
