Yangming Fort Site

The Yangming Fort Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Shanxi Province.

The Yangming Fort Site is located around Baonei Village in Yangmingbao Town, Dai County. It is said to have been initially built during the Zhiping era of the Song Dynasty (1064–1067), with additions made during the Ming Dynasty. The site has a rectangular layout, approximately 500 meters east-west and 300 meters north-south, covering an area of about 150,000 square meters. The remaining sections include 50 meters of the eastern wall, 60 meters of the southern wall, 10 meters of the northern wall, with a base width of 1.9–4.6 meters, a top width of 1–2.1 meters, and a remaining height of 0.6–4.2 meters. The walls were constructed from rammed earth, with layers 0.08–0.17 meters thick. It is a relic from the Song and Ming dynasties, and one of the thirty-nine forts and twelve connected cities within the county.
