Xuanren Site

Xuanren Site

The Xuanren Site is a cultural heritage protection unit of Dai County.

The Xuanren Site is located east of Xuanren Village, Yukou Township, Dai County. It spans approximately 500 meters from east to west and 600 meters from north to south, covering a total area of about 300,000 square meters. The site sits on a terrace on the southern bank of the Hutuo River, featuring higher terrain in the south and lower in the north, with an open and flat landscape. No cultural layer accumulation has been discovered. Artifacts collected from the surface include gray pottery with sand tempering and gray pottery with clay body from the Neolithic Age, decorated with cord and basket patterns on their surfaces, although their shapes are unclear; as well as gray pottery fragments from the Han Dynasty, with corded or plain surfaces, and identifiable shapes such as jars.
