Xiashè Fort Site

The Xiashè Fort Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shanxi Province.

The Xiashè Fort Site is located east of Zhèngxiàshè Village, E’kou Town, Dai County. It has a rectangular layout, measuring 47.4 meters from east to west and 66.1 meters from north to south, covering an area of 3,133 square meters. Remnants of all four walls remain, with base widths of 5.2–5.7 meters, top widths of 1.2–2.8 meters, and surviving heights of 2.4–6.2 meters. The walls were constructed from rammed earth, with each layer being 0.07–0.13 meters thick. The central part of the southern wall features a gate. It is a relic from the Ming Dynasty and one of the thirty-nine forts and twelve connected cities within the county.
