Dongzhang Fort Ruins

Dongzhang Fort Ruins is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shanxi Province.

Dongzhang Fort Ruins, located in Dongzhang Village, Yukou Township, Dai County. The site has a rectangular layout, measuring 50 meters from east to west and 65 meters from north to south, covering a total area of 3,250 square meters. Remnants of all four walls are intermittently preserved. The surviving sections include an eastern wall remnant 4 meters long, a southern wall remnant 10 meters long, a western wall remnant 47 meters long, and a northern wall remnant 15 meters long. The base width ranges from 0.7 to 2.5 meters, the top width from 0.3 to 1.2 meters, and the remaining height from 0.5 to 3.9 meters. The walls were built using rammed earth, with layers 0.08 to 0.15 meters thick. One corner tower remains. It is a relic from the Ming Dynasty and is one of the Thirty-Nine Forts and Twelve Linked Cities within the county. Dongzhang Village: Dongzhang Village is located in Dai County, Xinzhou City, Shanxi Province, in the eastern part of the county, over 30 kilometers from the county seat, and falls under the jurisdiction of Yukou Township. It borders Duanjing Village to the east, Xuanren Village to the west, the Hutuo River to the north, and is traversed east-west by Gaosu Highway.
