Duan Village Fortress Site

The Duan Village Fortress Site is a cultural heritage site protected at the provincial level in Shanxi Province.

The Duan Village Fortress Site is located in Duan Village, Zaolin Town, Dai County. It has a rectangular layout, measuring approximately 320 meters from east to west and 180 meters from north to south, covering a total area of about 57,600 square meters.

Remnants of walls remain on all four sides, with base widths of 2.4–4.5 meters, top widths of 0.9–3.2 meters, and remaining heights of 2.9–7.2 meters. The walls were constructed using rammed earth, with layers 0.07–0.20 meters thick. There is one surviving barbican and three corner towers, all dating back to the Ming Dynasty. It is one of the thirty-nine fortresses and twelve connected cities within the county.
