Li Dingming (1881–1947), originally named Fenggong, was born in Taohuamao, Tao Town, Mizhi County, Shaanxi Province. As a non-Party democratic figure, he attained remarkable expertise in military affairs, education, philosophy, and medicine. He was the proponent of the “streamline the army and simplify the administration” military strategy, a pioneer in the “three-three system” democratic governance and political participation, the first to advocate for the integration of traditional Chinese and Western medicine, the initiator of research on the history of northern ethnic groups, and an advocate for saving the nation through education.

In 1947, Li Dingming worked and resided in Qianquyu Village. The Former Residence of Li Dingming in Qianquyu is a Qing Dynasty building, facing south with a north orientation, measuring 25 meters in length from east to west and 21.50 meters in width from north to south.

The military strategy of the Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region Government’s eastward crossing of the Yellow River and stationing in Lin County in 1947 was a significant military decision on the northwestern front of the Liberation War. As Vice Chairman of the Shaan-Gan-Ning Border Region, Li Dingming resided in Qianquyu Village, Lin County, after the crossing. Faced with the severe revolutionary situation of the Kuomintang’s economic blockade, he participated in the implementation of multiple military, economic, and cultural policies at the Lin County base despite his ill health. He earned high esteem in the liberated areas and was a strong driving force behind China’s New Democratic Revolution, making contributions to the liberation of New China.
