Nancun Statues (First Batch of Provincial-Level Protected Cultural Relics)

Era: Tang Dynasty

Location: 100 meters west of Nancun Village, Fangzhu Town, 15 kilometers west of Yushe County

The temple was constructed during the Tang Dynasty but was destroyed in the War of Resistance against Japan. Only two sandstone Buddhist statues remain. The standing statue is missing its hands, stands 4.6 meters tall, and has a round face with large ears. The seated statue is 1.3 meters tall, headless, and features exquisitely fine carvings with realistic textures and lifelike detail, retaining the artistic style of the Tang Dynasty.
