Laoyaguan

Laoyaguan was established in the early Ming Dynasty, located in what is now Laoyaguan Township, at the border between today’s Anning County and Lufeng County. A customs office was once built here to provide lodging for travelers. The poet Li Genyuan wrote in his poem “Staying Overnight at Laoyaguan”: “Beyond Qinglong Post stand thousands of towering trees; by Caobu Post (now Caopu) lie ranges upon ranges of hills. At dusk, strange birds cry in the mountains; step by step, I climb up Laoyaguan again...”
