Shilong Cremation Tomb Cluster

The Shilong Cremation Tomb Cluster is located on the western slope of Shilong Village in Heijing Town. The tomb cluster covers an area of

5,000 square meters, consisting of over 400 tombs, all without burial mounds. The tombs are grouped in dozens, with each group spaced about one meter apart. Research indicates that this tomb cluster originated in the early Yuan Dynasty and continued into the early Ming Dynasty. Today, over 100 tomb pillars and steles can still be seen at the site, engraved with reign titles from the Yuandade to the Taiding and Xuanguang eras. The pillars are generally 0.5 meters high, with square bases and circular bodies, topped with either round or pointed covers, and have diameters ranging from 0.3 to 0.5 meters. In 1968, nearly a thousand cremation urns were unearthed here. This cremation tomb cluster has now been designated as a county-level cultural heritage protection unit.
