“Mengbanaxi” means “a beautiful and magical utopia.” With its stunning mountains, beautiful waters, and abundant resources, over 2,400 years ago, the ancestors of the ethnic minorities in Luxi had already formed tribes here. Blessed with a subtropical monsoon climate, fertile land, and ample rainfall, along with the diligence of its people, the area has enjoyed bountiful harvests and thriving livestock, making it a place longed for by many outsiders. Whether you walk along the streets, alleys, parks, or through residential courtyards, you can see blooming flowers all year round. Bougainvillea, osmanthus, crape myrtle, and azaleas are all famous flowers in Luxi. Among them, “bougainvillea” is the state flower of Dehong Prefecture. Mengbanaxi Rare and Exotic Garden gathers unique treasures that are rare in China and even the world, vividly showcasing the charm of being “rare, peculiar, ancient, and strange.”
