Mangshi National Cultural Palace

The Mangshi National Cultural Palace is located on the east side of the southern section of Qingnian Road, covering an area of 154 mu, and was completed in 1988. As you enter the palace, you’ll see that its main gate features a triangular spire design with a gourd-shaped archway, embodying the architectural style of Dai palaces. The grand, golden-hued structure showcases a strong Dai ethnic flavor. Inside, there is the “White Dragon Pavilion,” a symbol of the Dai Water-Splashing Festival, and the “Munao Zongge Pavilion,” a symbol of the Jingpo Munao Zongge Festival. The palace also houses the “Memorial Pavilion of Premier Zhou Enlai.” This pavilion has a multi-tiered structure with a golden ceramic-tiled roof, built upon a square base with marble railings. It features 20 entrances, with horizontal plaques and inscriptions in Chinese, Dai, and Jingpo scripts, recounting how in December 1956, during their overseas visit, Premier Zhou Enlai and Vice Premier He Long, together with Burmese Prime Minister U Ba Swe and his delegation, presided over a border unity gathering in Mangshi, fostering the profound “pauk-phaw” friendship between the Chinese and Burmese peoples. Additionally, the site includes a fountain, a children’s playground, a square, and more. With streams flowing gently through the grounds and lush tropical and subtropical plants flourishing all around, it’s an ideal destination for sightseeing and enjoying the cool during summer.
