Shang Wuyang

The Shang Wuyang Scenic Area is one of the ten major scenic zones of the national-level Wuyang River Scenic Area. It is located in the northwest of Shibing County, Qiandongnan Miao and Dong Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, about 8 kilometers from the county seat, covering a planned area of 81 square kilometers with 27 scenic spots.

The natural ecology of the scenic area is unparalleled in the world, with lush primeval vegetation; the two riverbanks feature bizarre and uniquely shaped peaks; “The Old Man Fishing” looks venerably aged; “Immortal Drying Shoes” and “One Foot Holding Up the Sky” are strikingly unique; “Twin Pillars of the Palace Gate” and the Dragon King’s Divine Needle are wonders unmatched anywhere in the world; “Sphinx,” “Eight Immortals Crossing the Sea,” and “Golden Monkey Gazing at the Moon” leave visitors dazzled——27 scenic spots are like 27 emerald pearls inlaid along both banks of the Shang Wuyang River, glistening with verdant reflections, resembling natural potted landscapes or a reimagined heavenly paradise. The entire scenic area features distinct layers, strong contrasts, a balanced mix of bold and subtle elements, and an orderly arrangement of density, forming a natural green art corridor. The upper section of the scenic area is known for its majestic grandeur, the middle section unfolds gently and expansively, while the lower section is serene and mystical, creating a heavenly water park characterized by naturally formed mountain charm and water elegance.
