The Shuimu River Scenic Area is located in the northwest of Shibing County, approximately 14 kilometers from the county town. The area focuses on rafting, summer retreats, exploration, and scientific research, spanning a tourism area of 49 square kilometers. Key attractions include Long-Awaited Reunion, Gateway to the Heavens, Twin Rocks Standing Side by Side, Blade-Back Rock, High Shoal, Rhino Drinking Water, Roadless Pond, Thunder God Shoal, and Jar Mouth. The riverbanks are flanked by overlapping mountains, scattered jagged peaks, and sheer cliffs. Tough vines twist and turn along the precipices, while verdant pines thrust boldly upward through the mist. Deep valleys and gorges are veiled in morning and evening clouds, and the entrance gorges are shaded by ancient trees and bamboo groves. Among them are skillfully scattered rock formations like stars on a chessboard, rising proudly one after another. Within the dark cliffs flow murmuring streams. Some cascading springs pour from cliff peaks onto rocks above the water, twisting and turning as they rush down, with the splashing waters resembling flying silk and jade fragments drifting through the air before scattering with the wind. The water here is knee-deep, crystal clear, and the riverbed is mostly covered with clean fine sand and pebbles. The flow is neither rushed nor sluggish, meandering naturally whether straight or curved. In shallow, gentle slopes, the water sparkles brilliantly; around bends and at the base of cliffs, it lies flat as a mirror, reflecting layers of emerald peaks. The entire environment features drifting clouds over mountains, fish swimming near the surface, egrets resting on sandbars, exotic flowers and plants, birds calling in the valleys, cicadas chirping in the treetops — serene yet not perilous, lush yet not confined. While exploring, you may encounter the primitive forests, rare plants, precious birds and animals, as well as valuable fish species such as mandarin fish, oil fish, softshell turtles, and giant salamanders in the river. When camping, you can pitch tents in the deep, mysterious canyons, light campfires, accompany the sounds of water and frogs, share the company of the breeze and moonlight, and enjoy the generous, simple, and mellow embrace of nature. Currently, developed activities in the Shuimu River Scenic Area include rafting, wading through the canyon, and leisure vacation tours. Shuimu River Rafting is thrilling and fun, exciting yet safe for all ages. It is hailed by both domestic and international tourists as the “Mineral Spring River.” The Shuimu River Scenic Area has been rated under the national quality standards ISO9001 & ISO14001 and has been named one of the “Top Ten Most Charming Tourist Destinations in Guizhou.” It was also awarded the title of “National Premium Tourist Attraction” by the 3rd Boao International Tourism Forum.

Shuimu River's waters are knee-deep, crystal-clear, and the riverbed consists mostly of clean fine sand and pebbles. The flow moves smoothly and unhurriedly across the pristine bed, winding and stretching naturally whether the course is gentle or sharp. In shallow, slow-moving areas, the water shimmers brightly; around bends and at the feet of cliffs, it becomes as smooth as glass, reflecting the overlapping green peaks. The area is divided into four main sections: Shechong, Huangtunei, Zijinguan, and Jiangjiatian, covering an area of 96 square kilometers with 19 planned attractions. The waters of Shuimu River are said to have natural therapeutic effects on the human body, earning it the reputation of the “Divine Mineral Spring River,” famous throughout the world. The scenic area features crystal-clear spring water and steep, majestic peaks, characterized by its natural beauty of “grandeur, elegance, and wonder.” As you enter the area, you’ll see the mountains admiring each other’s beauty, and the water flowing lovingly around them. The entire scenic area is secluded yet open, deep yet safe. The riverbed is paved with white sand, the sand dunes spotlessly clean. Crabs gather in groups in the water, and fish swim freely. Vines hang from the cliffs, and ancient trees stretch out over the water. The thousand-year-old gorge is full of vitality.
