Dongwo Village in Banmai, Chaoyang Town, located in the southwestern part of Libo County, Guizhou Province, is 5 kilometers from the Chaoyang Town government and 14 kilometers from the county seat. With convenient transportation, it lies beside the picturesque Zhangjiang River. Blessed with abundant rainfall and pristine air, its natural, eco-friendly environment—just 3 kilometers from the Daqikong and Xiaoqikong scenic areas—adds a touch of spirituality and poetry to Banmai Village.

Leveraging its prime location along the Zhangjiang River and the corridor between the county seat and the Daqikong & Xiaoqikong scenic areas, Banmai Village has capitalized on local rural cultural characteristics to develop a model rural tourism experience destination. Guided by market demand and managed through unified government planning, the village promotes a “Village Committee + Cooperative + Farmers” model. By leasing land and integrating projects such as the “Beautiful Countryside” initiative, it has advanced rural tourism. In March 2014, 160 acres of land were leased to cultivate lavender, verbena, and salvia.

By June and July, the fields are blanketed with fragrant spikes of purple lavender. Renowned for its exceptional quality and elegant, lingering aroma, the lavender transforms the farmlands and riverbanks into a sea of purple. For visitors, coming here to admire the lavender, immerse in its charm and fragrance, is a dreamlike paradise.
