Tonggu Bridge at Libo Xiaoqikong

Tonggu Bridge at Libo Xiaoqikong is located at the east entrance of the Xiaoqikong Scenic Area, spanning the Zhangjiang River. It was originally built in 1993 and rebuilt in 2001 (the original bridge was destroyed by severe flooding in Libo in 2001). The bridge is 126 meters long, with a clear span of 60 meters, a width of 2.4 meters, and a height of 25 meters. Both ends of the bridge are designed in the shape of Yao Mountain copper drums, hence the name “Tonggu Bridge” (Copper Drum Bridge).

-- The Yao people regard the copper drum as a divine gift, a treasure that protects the village, and a symbol of power. The totem poles erected at the bridgeheads represent the dignity of the Yao people, their reverence for ancestors and deities, as well as their confidence and strength in conquering nature. The relief patterns on the pillars showcase the traditional, unique, and ancient ethnic culture of the Yao people, featuring strong local ethnic characteristics.

Transportation

By Bus:

There are shuttle buses from Libo County Bus Station to the Da-Xiao Qikong area, running from 6:00 AM to 5:00 PM, every 15 minutes. The fare is 9 yuan.

By Taxi:

Taxis in Libo County start at 4 yuan. You can also negotiate a fixed price with the driver for a private car to Da-Xiao Qikong. However, Libo County is relatively small, so walking is feasible unless you have specific needs.

By Private Car Rental:

If you are traveling in a larger group (more than 6 people) or prefer to share a ride, you can rent a car. This is especially recommended if you plan to visit Maolan, where self-driving or renting a car is necessary. Typically, a 7-seat van with a driver to Maolan starts at 300 yuan per day, while round-trip shuttle service for Da-Xiao Qikong starts at 150 yuan per day.
