Nowadays, there is a sanatorium here, featuring eight major scenic spots: Tiandai Yelin (Heavenly Terrace Grove), Qingliu Mingqin (Clear Stream Singing Zither), Baishi Yongquan (White Stone Gushing Spring), Qishi Guanpu (Spectacular Rocks Viewing Waterfall), Ciyun Shengfo (Merciful Clouds and Birth of Buddha), Hongshui Gumu (Flood Ancient Tomb), Xijiao Junyun (Rhinoceros Horn Towering Clouds), and Tiansheng Gaqiao (Naturally Formed High Bridge). It is a renowned destination for tourism and recuperation.

Regarding Xifeng Hot Spring, there is a local legend among the Miao people: After Dan Yu, the horseman of the King of Yelang, broke his leg, his father went down the mountain to fetch hot spring water to wash his son’s feet, and eventually healed the injury. Thus, this medicinal hot spring was discovered. Since it was found in the Xifeng area, it came to be known as Xifeng Hot Spring.

Xifeng Hot Spring is located 41 kilometers northeast of Xifeng County and is a well-known hot spring in southwestern China. The area around the hot spring features undulating mountains, where the Heitan River and Qingshui River converge. At the confluence, hot springs emerge from three outlets, with temperatures ranging from 53°C to 56°C. The water contains over ten elements including calcium, magnesium, sodium, and potassium. Long-term consumption can help treat various ailments, and the spring water also contains radon, making it a therapeutic radon spring.

Within Xifeng County, there is also the Xifeng Concentration Camp, located 6 kilometers south of the county seat.

Transportation

1. You can take a minibus from the First Social Passenger Transport Service Station on Yan’an West Road in Guiyang City. Buses run daily from 8:00–17:00.

There is a bus every 20 minutes.

2. You can also take a bus from Guiyang to Zunyi and get off at Yanglongsi. From there, you can take a small van to the hot spring. The fare is 5 RMB, or a chartered van costs 30 RMB.
