The Guizhou Xifeng Concentration Camp was a secret prison set up by the military intelligence agency of the - government during the Anti-Japanese War. It comprised the main camp in Yanglang Dam and the Xuantian Cave detention site. Its predecessor was the “Nanjing Military Prison” of the - government. From its establishment in November 1938 to its closure in July 1946, it held over 0 individuals and more than 1,220 progressives, over 600 of whom were killed or tortured to death. In 1988, the State Council listed the former site of the Xifeng Concentration Camp as a Major Historical and Cultural Site Protected at the National Level. In 1996, the Guiyang municipal government invested in restoring the former camp site, which officially opened to the public in 1997. Recently, the Xifeng Concentration Camp Revolutionary History Memorial was designated by the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee as one of the second group of National Patriotic Education Demonstration Bases.

The Xifeng Concentration Camp was the largest, most strictly managed, and held the highest “rank” of detainees among the three secret prisons established by the military intelligence agency at the time. The military spies referred to the Chongqing Wanglongmen Detention Center as “elementary school,” the Chongqing Bai Mansion and Zhazidong prisons as “middle school,” and the Xifeng Concentration Camp as “university.” “Case background”

Transportation:

1. You can take a minibus from the First Passenger Transport Service Station on Yan’an West Road in downtown Guiyang to Xifeng County, then transfer to a direct bus from Xifeng to Yanglang to arrive.

2. By car, take the Guiyang-Zunyi Expressway, exit at Xifeng, drive south through Xifeng County, and continue for about 6 km to reach the site.
