The ruins of Huayan Temple are a cultural heritage site protected at the county level in Xifeng County.

The ruins of Huayan Temple are located in Tianzhuiping Group, Dashi Village, Luwo Township, Xifeng County, and were designated as a county-level cultural heritage site in 2011. It was built by the Ming Dynasty monk Jishou, and underwent renovations during the Yongzheng and Jiaqing reigns of the Qing Dynasty, but was destroyed during the Xianfeng and Tongzhi wartime chaos. It was rebuilt during the Guangxu period by the monk Yuanbai. It was again destroyed during the Cultural Revolution’s campaign to “smash the Four Olds,” with most of the upper, middle, and lower halls and other structures being destroyed, leaving only the west wing room. Scattered across the site are stone bases, shrines, and many stone components featuring exquisite carvings. The site spans an area of over 2,600 square meters. Huayan Temple was originally one of the Eight Temples of Xishan, notable for its large scale and early founding date, and holds certain significance for the study of Buddhist culture.

The total land area of the township is 97.858 square kilometers, encompassing 13 administrative villages and 129 villager groups, with a total population of 3,962 households and 16,012 people.
