Luofan Swallow Cave

Luofan is located 27 kilometers east of Ceheng County. Historical records indicate that from the sixth year of Emperor Shenzong of the Song Dynasty's Xining era (1073) to the early years of the Southern Song Dynasty, the capital of the Luo Dian (Fan) Kingdom was situated on a mountainside about 1 kilometer east of present-day Luofan Village, covering an area of approximately 30 acres. The remains of the city wall foundations, broken bricks, and tiles can still be found today. At the foot of the ancient capital's mountain lies the Swallow Cave, which is over 40 meters high and more than 10 meters wide. The cave is set along steep cliffs with sparse shrubs, and flocks of swallows and bats fly day and night above the cave entrance. Near the cave mouth are ponds formed by water flowing from the upstream river through underground karst channels. These ponds are navigable by small boats or rafts, and the surrounding ancient banyan trees, with their lush foliage and twisted roots, create a captivating landscape.
