Laijiadian Western Sichuan Folk Custom Ancient Town

Laijiadian Town is the only ancient town within the Third Ring Road of Chengdu. It features an extremely rare architectural complex from the late Qing Dynasty and early Republican period in Chengdu, showcasing strong Western Sichuan residential architectural style and deep historical and cultural heritage. It still retains the traditional folk custom of holding market days on dates ending in “3, 6, and 9.” Through the renovation of the old town, plans are underway to create a Western Sichuan folk custom ancient town that preserves local traditions, customs, famous snacks, tea culture, opera, silk production, and grand family compounds of Western Sichuan. It will integrate suburban Western Sichuan cultural tourism, folk cuisine, local specialty trade, and leisure sightseeing. The project is currently under development.
