The Chengdu Libin Newspaper Museum is located at the Shengdeng Subdistrict Comprehensive Cultural Activity Center, No. 25 Hualin Second Road, Chenghua District. It is the only officially open community-run public newspaper museum in Southwest China and has garnered widespread attention from local residents. The museum currently houses over 15,000 types and nearly 50,000 copies of newspapers from various periods in Chinese and world history, covering the Qing Dynasty, the Republican Era, the early years after Liberation, the Cultural Revolution, and the period since Reform and Opening-Up. Among them are rare and valuable editions such as the "Peking Gazette" from the Daoguang reign of the Qing Dynasty (selected in April 2010 by the Newspaper Collectors’ Branch of the China Press Association as one of the first “China’s Finest Newspaper Collections”), the "Shen Bao" from the Tongzhi and Guangxu reigns, the "Political Official Gazette," "Yi Wen Bao," "Hui Bao," "Dian Shi Zhai Pictorial," and "Diplomatic Gazette" from the Guangxu and Xuantong reigns, as well as the "Shi Wu Bao" (edited by Kang Youwei and penned by Liang Qichao), and early Republican-era publications like the "Government Official Gazette" and "Guang Fu Bao." These unique and premium items are of great historical value. The museum also features a variety of uniquely shaped and textured newspapers, such as umbrella newspapers, fan newspapers, gold foil newspapers, silver foil newspapers, business card newspapers, silk newspapers, T-shirt newspapers, postcard newspapers, handkerchief newspapers, and miniature newspapers—all considered treasures in the newspaper collecting world and enjoying significant influence among collectors nationwide.
