Introduction to Yumen, Panzhihua   Yumen was once a remote town deep in Yanbian, with inconvenient transportation. But everything changed because of Ertan. When the Ertan Reservoir began to store water, the deep gullies that once blocked people from traveling over the mountains became waterways; the once towering and rugged mountains, gently embraced by the waters of the Yalong River, also took on a gentler appearance; and the beautiful scenery of Qinghe, which previously required an arduous journey to reach, can now be easily accessed to and from via Yumen.

The construction of Ertan not only led to the formation of the Ertan Reservoir National Forest Park, but also, due to the backwater of Ertan, the water levels of the Yumen River, Qinghe River, Yongxing River, Xinping River, and other tributaries of the Yalong River around Yumen rose. These, together with the Ertan Reservoir, the BaiPo Mountain primitive forest scenic area in Miyi, and the main stream scenic area of the Yalong River, formed a continuous and integrated landscape system. This became the prototype of what would later be the Ertan National Forest Park.

As Yumen is located at the center of this scenic area, although its tourism facilities are not yet fully developed, visitors can still witness genuine smiles, authentic ethnic customs, and heartfelt hospitality. If you have a desire for adventure, heading upstream will reveal how many hidden beautiful landscapes lie within these deep mountains.
