Introduction to Panzhihua Qinglong Cave A magical underground karst cave—Qinglong Cave—is like an extraordinary subterranean palace, hidden beneath the Qinglong Mountain in Cangpu Village, Jiangxi Township, Yanbian County. Near Qinglong Cave, there are several springs that flow year-round. One of them, as thick as a barrel’s opening, has been channeled into a circular mountain irrigation ditch. Locals call it “Dragon Spring Sacred Water.” Inside the cave, the karst-formed “dragon” body can still be faintly seen—it has a head, a tail, shadows, and scales. That is the Qinglong (Green Dragon). According to local villagers, this cave connects to Yongxing Township, Huaping County, Yunnan Province. One year, seven brave locals volunteered to explore the cave. They walked inside for seven full days and nights but still didn’t find the exit.

The cave presents a spectacle of wonders inside—crystal-clear pools and bizarre stone forests that complement each other, rivaling even the beauty of “West Lake” and “Heavenly Lake”! “Lotus Pond,” “Stone Forest in the River,” “Dragon Playing with Water,” and “Mandarin Ducks Frolicking in the Pond”—whatever you imagine, it resembles it. Towering stone pillars, large and small, stand in rows, some resembling the “Pillar That Calms the Sea,” others like “Dragon-Headed Canes.” Over here, a grand dance drama has just ended, with curtains only halfway drawn; over there, “Frogs Crossing the River” and “The Tortoise and the Hare Race” are already in full swing. There’s also “Sitting Arhat,” “Group Worshipping Buddha,” and “Seven Fairies Descending to Earth”—truly too many to count. The most breathtaking sight is the Jade Pool Paradise, a vast hall covered with stalactites.
