Introduction to Panzhihua Qinghe Take a bus from Qinghe Township and head north along a forested mountain road, and in just a few steps, you’ll enter the Qinghe Gorge. The Qinghe River winds its way through the landscape, and so does the road. Towering cliffs rise sharply on both sides of the gorge, their peaks visible only when you look up. Near the riverbanks, dense vines twist through the forest, creating an almost impenetrable canopy. Among the cliffs, ancient trees tower overhead, lush and verdant even in winter, never shedding a single leaf. The Qinghe River is crystal clear, with arrow bamboo and thickets of shrubs lining its banks. In the river, pools of clear water flow gently or swiftly, winding their way around giant boulders as big as houses and small ones like pavilions. Inside the gorge, mountains surround you on all sides, and within just a few dozen meters in any direction, the path disappears from view—only a narrow strip of sky remains overhead.
