During the War of Resistance Against Japan, to strengthen intelligence work against Japan, the Eighth Route Army established an intelligence station of the Tai Nan Office under the 18th Group Army of the National Revolutionary Army in October 1941. Observation posts were set up in frontline villages, and Taidong Village was one of the key intelligence stations established by the office. Throughout the flames of the war, the Eighth Route Army Tai Nan Office Intelligence Station provided our Party and army with a large amount of military intelligence and information, making immeasurable contributions to protecting the people and striking against the Japanese invaders. It is now open to the public as the “Exhibition Hall of the Eighth Route Army Tai Nan Office Intelligence Station.”

The existing site is 29 meters long from north to south and 19 meters wide from east to west, covering an area of 551 square meters. It has a single-courtyard layout, with the main house and south wing remaining along the central axis. The main house consists of three cave dwellings built against a earthen cliff.

Taidong Village: Introduction to Taidong Village

Taidong Village, ChengjiaChuan Office, is located 9 kilometers southeast of Lucheng City, adjacent to Tianji Group. The village has 280 households, a population of 950, and 2,300 mu of arable land. Its leading industries are crop farming and labor export. The village collective has no enterprises and no economic income. The per capita income is over 4,300 yuan, and there are 36 Party members in total.
