Fengling Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Fengling Temple is located on Phoenix Mountain to the east of the Miyang River Bridge in Yan Ting County. Its peak, shaped like a phoenix head, soars straight into the clouds, and the mountain is covered with dense forests, lush trees, exotic flowers, and green grass. National Highway Tang-Ba passes by the temple gate, where the sounds of car horns, flowing water, bells, drums, and birdsong form a symphony of nature in the hometown of Leizu. Fengling Temple not only features richly colorful and miraculously beautiful natural scenery, but also profound and ancient Buddhist culture, making it one of the famous Buddhist sites in northern Sichuan. As early as the first year of Chongning during the reign of Emperor Huizong of the Song Dynasty (1102 AD), Mahayana Buddhism was introduced to Yan Ting and spread throughout the county. In 1940, the “Yan Ting County Buddhist Association” was established at Fenghuang Temple. The current temple complex, covering nearly 10,000 square meters, includes the Hall of Heavenly Kings, Hall of Ksitigarbha, Hall of Guanyin, Hall of Skanda, Hall of Perfect Enlightenment, Grand Buddha Hall, as well as the Sightseeing Tower, conference room, offices, shops, scripture depository, accommodation area, dining hall, bathrooms, and toilets. The various halls feature distinct architectural designs, and the ancient temple with its red walls and yellow tiles is nestled within the shade of trees.

Nestled by the silver river at the front and backed by forested hills, Fengling Temple occupies a key location in the county — close to the city yet not within it, near the water yet not inside it. Through the ages, visitors from far and near have come in droves all year round to sightsee, worship, and offer incense.
