Lotus Lake Scenic Area

Lotus Lake gets its name from the magical "Lotus Stone" that blooms by the lakeshore. Located at Liangchatan in Shuangbei Township, 23 kilometers north of the county town, it has a controlled drainage area of 162.6 square kilometers and a total reservoir capacity of 3,350 square meters. The lake is V-shaped, with over 60 kilometers of meandering and lengthy shorelines. Towering mountains and steep ridges line both sides of the lake, layer upon layer, arrayed in picturesque disorder. Verdant pines and cypresses blanket the valleys among the peaks, stretching as far as the eye can see. Within the shimmering waters, pavilions and secluded islands complement each other beautifully. Seagulls and cranes spread their wings, fish swim in schools, sails dot the surface, blue waves ripple, and water and sky merge into one — an idyllic scene fit for a painting.
