Nanchi Temple

Nanchi Temple is a cultural relic protection unit of Pengxi County.

Nanchi Temple was built in the 26th year of the Daoguang reign during the Qing Dynasty (1846), located in Datieya Village, Chicheng Town, and is classified as an ancient architectural structure.

On September 3, 2012, Nanchi Temple was designated as a cultural relic protection unit at the county level in the fifth batch announced by Pengxi County.

Protected area: extends 10 meters outward from the outer eaves of the ancient building to the east, south, west, and north.

Chicheng Town: A town under the jurisdiction of Pengxi County and the seat of the county government. It was known as Chengxiang Town in 1911, renamed Chengguan Town in 1950, and changed to Chicheng Town in 1981. Located in the northeastern part of the county on the left bank of the Pengxi River, it covers an area of 89.4 square kilometers with a population of 83,000. National Highway 318 (Sichuan–Hubei) passes through the town.
