Kuang Jixun Park is a national AA-level tourist attraction, a classic red tourism site, and a patriotic education base.

Kuang Jixun Park is located in Pengxi County, Sichuan Province, and is one of the patriotic education bases in the province and part of the province’s red tourism routes. It mainly centers around the revolutionary legacy left after Kuang Jixun, a high-ranking early leader of the CPC, led an uprising in Pengxi on June 29, 1929, establishing the "First Route Army of the Chinese Workers’ and Peasants’ Red Army" and the first county-level red political power in Southwest China—the "Pengxi Soviet Government"—leaving behind a wealth of important red historical sites. This has developed into a uniquely themed red tourism resource. The site has become an important place for people from all walks of life to learn about the revolutionary deeds of General Kuang Jixun and to hear heroic stories of revolutionary martyrs. It serves as an open-themed park that combines leisure, sightseeing, and patriotic education. In 2012, it was designated as a national AA-level tourist attraction.

The park is situated in the urban area of Pengxi County, Sichuan Province. Starting from the east side of Wanhe Hotel, walk 60 meters north along General’s Road, then follow the path on the left side of the mountain. At the foot of the mountain lies the Solar Terms Square of Kuang Jixun Park, and ascending the hill brings you to the central location of the park—the Kuang Jixun Memorial Hall. This memorial was built by the people of Pengxi to commemorate Kuang Jixun, a martyr who founded the first county-level government body in Sichuan Province—the Sichuan Pengxi Soviet. The park is centered around the memorial hall (inscribed by Xu Xiangqian), with secondary hubs including a square, calligraphy displays, and a national defense education base. It holds honors such as being a provincial national defense education base, a Sichuan provincial patriotic education base, and the only CCP history education base in all districts and counties of Suining City. Since its opening in 2009, the park has welcomed millions of visitors to pay their respects to the martyr and tour the grounds.

Kuang Jixun, also known as Ji Chen, was born in the 21st year of the Guangxu reign during the Qing Dynasty (1895) in Sinan County, Guizhou Province. As a child, he attended a private school for three years. In 1911, at the age of 16, he joined anti-Qing railway protection forces in Sichuan. In 1912, he enlisted in the Sichuan Army under Lai Xinhui’s command. By 1920, he had been promoted to company commander, and by 1923, to battalion commander. Influenced by the publication “Guide” (Xiangdao), he propagated revolutionary theories within his unit. In 1925, his unit was integrated into Deng Xihou’s River Defense Forces under Huang Yin’s command, where he served as regimental and brigade commander.
