The Martyrs' Tomb of Liao Yubi is a cultural relic protection unit of Sichuan Province.

Martyrs' Tomb of Liao Yubi (Yuechi County)

The Martyrs' Tomb of Liao Yubi is situated on Guanshanpo in Zhonghe Town, Yuechi. It faces the rushing Quxi River in front and is backed by the martyr’s hometown, Taiyangping. The tomb is approximately 2 meters high, 3 meters wide, and 7 meters long, characterized by an austere elegance and impressive grandeur. Surrounding the tomb are stone railings; outside the railings stand lush and evergreen cypresses and pines, while inside bloom various exotic flowers and fragrant plants. At the center stands a tombstone, about 3 meters high and 7 meters wide, built with stone materials and coated with cement, smooth and finely finished. The left side of the front of the tombstone is inscribed with text commemorating “the 50th anniversary of Martyr Liao Yubi’s martyrdom and the 25th anniversary of the passing of Comrade Chen Lianshi.” In the center are carved large official script characters reading: “The Tomb of Martyr Liao Yubi and Comrade Chen Lianshi.” The right side begins with the full text of the Martyr’s Certificate and epitaph issued by the Ministry of Civil Affairs of the People’s Republic of China in 1982. The back of the tombstone bears the names of the martyr’s relatives. Originally built in the martyr’s hometown — Taiyangping — in 1982, the Chongqing Federation of Literary and Art Circles and the People’s Government of Yuechi County relocated the martyr’s remains to the current site, reconstructed the tomb and re-erected the tombstone. They also buried the ashes of his wife, Comrade Chen Lianshi, together with him to honor their loyal spirits.
