The Two Sages Shrine

Just a few hundred meters from East Zhonggu Tower Street, you can enter the renowned Two Sages Shrine. It was built to commemorate the benevolent governance of Li Bi and Yang Ruzhen of Jiange, who “expanded the city walls, abolished improper worship, established community granaries, founded schools for scholars, eliminated excessive taxes, set up relief shelters for the poor, and built roads and planted cypress trees.” The main hall and side rooms of the shrine are well-preserved, and bronze statues of Li Bi and Yang Ruzhen are currently housed in the county cultural relics management office. Adjacent to the Two Sages Shrine is the Jian Shan Academy, built during the Ming and Qing dynasties. These ancient structures have been designated as county-level cultural heritage protection units and serve as important physical materials for studying ancient Chinese architectural art and history.
