Xindianzi Scenic Area

Xindianzi Scenic Area is a national AA-level tourist attraction.

Xindianzi Scenic Area is located in Baihe Township, adjacent to National Highway 212. It is one of the key scenic spots developed as part of the provincial project to integrate elements of the Three Kingdoms cultural tourism route. It also serves as an important node and emerging tourism highlight along the Northern Sichuan Tourism Loop and our county’s 300-li “Pear Blossom Countryside” rural tourism belt. Covering an area of over 1,000 mu, the scenic area comprises a Catholic culture experience zone and a Running Horse Ridge leisure and entertainment zone. In addition to Catholic-related cultural attractions, the site also features natural ecological landscapes such as 60 mu of century-old pine and cypress trees and over 300 mu of wild wild chrysanthemum.

The scenic area was included in our county’s post-disaster recovery and reconstruction projects for the tourism sector, as well as in tourism investment attraction initiatives, following the 5·12 Wenchuan earthquake. In May 2010, it was officially listed as one of the county’s goals for establishing a national-level scenic area. In September 2010, Sichuan Qisheng Decoration Engineering Co., Ltd. signed an investment agreement for the scenic area’s construction, with a total investment of 6.4 million yuan. The first phase of the project—covering transportation facilities, visitor services, safety measures, sanitation, postal and telecommunications infrastructure, and tourism shopping—has been fully completed. The second phase will include the development of rural tourism hotels, vacation villas, and other projects.

In October 2010, the scenic area passed the national AA-level evaluation and acceptance. Moving forward, it will adhere to the principles of eco-friendly tourism development. By making full use of the natural ecological resource of wild wild chrysanthemum and incorporating surrounding rural areas into its planning, the scenic area aims to expand its scope and develop resort-style tourism products that integrate leisure, culture, and rural experiences. It will gradually advance the overall upgrade of the scenic area and work toward its goal of becoming a national AAAA-level tourist attraction.
