Wawu Cave

Wawu Cave is located within Yida Township, about one kilometer along the Zhaojin Highway and approximately two kilometers from the seat of Yida Township government. The cave entrance is at Wawu, and exploration cannot extend beyond Haxiang in Zhaojue County, reaching around 9,000 meters in length. The cave has numerous branching passages. By analyzing airflow and air freshness in these passages, it is inferred that they connect to an exit. This cave is a karst landform formed on the surface, densely packed with stalactites in a wide variety of shapes—some resembling humans, animals, tools, buildings, and even lotus flowers or beaded curtains. The colors are vibrant and the scenery breathtaking, making it a rare and outstanding cave tourism resource, seldom seen in the whole country.
