Poluo Rhododendron

The Poluo Suomahua (Rhododendron), covering an expanse of one hundred thousand acres, stretches across Bingdi Township, Jiayi Township, and Erjuxi Township. From the end of April to mid-June each year, the Suomahua blooms in a riot of colors — fresh, vibrant, and brilliantly red. Bathed in sunlight, they become even more radiant. Visitors flock to the mountains to admire the Suomahua, with continuous streams of tourists. Travelers and passing vehicles often place the flowers on their cars and in girls’ braids, symbolizing good fortune, happiness, and the enjoyment of beauty, as if celebrating a “Suomahua Festival.” Opposite the Forest Conservation Monument, in the direction of Jinyang, there are several small hills, and in the direction of Siwo, there is a mountain pass about 200 meters wide, with a 50-meter dam and an irrigation reservoir (artificial lake) with a water surface area of over one million square meters.
