Chongqing Taibao Temple is a cultural tourism attraction.

Introduction Located in Qinjiaba, 4 kilometers west of Zhongxian County, this temple was built in the late Qing Dynasty on the former residence of the late Ming female general Qin Liangyu. Qin Liangyu (1584–1648) was a native of Zhongzhou (now Zhongxian County), wife of Shi Zhu’s Pacification Commissioner Ma Qiancheng. After her husband’s death, Qin took over his military command, leading troops known as the “White Pole Soldiers.” She participated in suppressing the rebellions of Yang Yinglong and She Chongming, and resisted Zhang Xianzhong’s invasion of Sichuan. Later, she accepted a title from the Southern Ming regime to resist the Qing. For her merit in suppressing She Chongming, she was appointed as Du Tong Qian Shi, later promoted to Zong Bing Guan (Commander-in-Chief), quelling uprisings in the south of Shu and resisting Qing forces in the north. Due to her outstanding achievements and virtue, she was granted the title of Imperial Concubine, awarded the honorary rank of Grand Tutor to the Crown Prince, ennobled as the Marquise of Loyalty and Chastity.

Chongqing Zhongxian County

Qin Liangyu (1574–1648), courtesy name Zhen Su, was an eminent female general, national heroine, military strategist, and anti-Qing resistance leader during the late Ming Dynasty. A native of Zhongzhou, Sichuan (now Zhongxian County, Chongqing), she rose to the ranks of Guang Lu Da Fu, Marquise of Loyalty and Chastity, Shaobao, Grand Tutor to the Crown Prince, Grand Preceptor to the Crown Prince, Sichuan Pacification Commissioner, Left Commander of the Central Army Garrison, Zhen Dong General, Sichuan Regional Commander, Military Supervisor, and was honored as a First-Rank Imperial Concubine. Born on the second day of the first lunar month in 1574 at the hour of Shen, Liangyu grew up in a family of xiu cai (tribute students) and was deeply influenced from childhood by the feudal ideal of “bearing arms to defend the nation”...
