Introduction: The Bao Ting Tropical Botanical Garden is located within the Bao Ting Tropical Crops Research Institute, 3 kilometers south of Bao Ting County. Covering an area of 10 hectares, it cultivates tropical economic crops from over 30 countries as well as rare tropical and subtropical plants native to China, totaling 91 families and 420 species. The garden is divided into areas including the Tropical Crops Specimen Area, Tropical Fruit Tree Area, Tropical Economic Crops Area, Southern Medicine Area, Tropical Forest Tree Area, Flower Viewing Area, and Oil Crops Area. The Tropical Economic Crops Area houses a rubber germplasm bank with 1,030 clones of rubber varieties, making it China’s first research center for the improvement and cultivation of rubber. The Tropical Fruit Tree Area grows exotic fruits such as miracle fruit, sapodilla, breadfruit, rambutan, avocado, and butter fruit. Visitors to this botanical world are often left amazed and speechless by its abundance.
