Baoting Ethnic Culture Street
Baoting Ethnic Culture Street was established as part of the initiative to build Hainan into an international tourism destination. It aims to improve the county’s tourism service infrastructure and enrich its local ethnic cultural experience. This tourism project, characterized by traditional ancient architecture and the traditions of the Li and Miao peoples, offers a full range of travel-related services including tourism, leisure, and shopping. Situated on the west side of East Binhe West Road in the county town, the project covers an area of 72 acres, spans 1,200 meters in length, and is being developed in two phases. The first phase occupies 37 acres, extends 520 meters, and includes six ancient-style buildings with a total floor area of 17,700 square meters, along with 15,300 square meters of supporting landscape works. The total investment for this phase amounts to 68.4674 million yuan.
Designed with livability, tourism, and recreation in mind, the Ethnic Culture Street harmonizes Li and Miao architectural styles with the local tropical rainforest climate. The richly ethnic-style buildings are integrated with an elevated corridor along the river, making it a showcase window for the minority cultures of Baoting.
