Yanoda Rainforest Scenic Area is a national AAAAA-level tourist attraction.

Hainan Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone is located in Sandao Farm, Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County, Hainan Province. It is China’s only tropical rainforest situated at the 18th parallel north and a concentrated showcase of the top five tropical rainforests on Hainan Island, renowned as a diamond-grade rainforest destination in China. The scenic area is just 35 kilometers from Sanya City and 52 kilometers from Phoenix International Airport, making it a true backyard garden of Sanya. To the north, Yanoda borders Mount Wuzhi and Mount Qixianling; to the east, it overlooks the vast waves of the South China Sea, with the beautiful Haitang Bay nearby; and it is just across the water from Nantian Hot Springs, the foremost hot spring in southern China. In Sanya’s latest revised tourism master plan, this scenic area lies on the ecological landscape axis of the Greater Sanya Tourism Zone, positioned in the “Golden Triangle” of the “Greater Sanya Tourism Circle.”

“Yanoda” is an onomatopoeic word in the local Hainan dialect meaning one, two, three. The scenic area has given it new connotations: “Ya” represents innovation, “Nuo” stands for commitment, and “Da” means fulfillment. At the same time, “Yanoda” also means welcome or hello, conveying friendliness and blessings.

The overall planned area of Hainan Yanoda Rainforest Cultural Tourism Zone spans 45 square kilometers, surrounded by a 123-square-kilometer ecological restoration reserve. With a planned investment of 3.9 billion RMB and a six-year construction period, the project includes the development of Yanoda Rainforest Valley, Dream Valley, Sandao Valley, Mystic Valley, the Chinese Zodiac Square, Parudiy Outdoor Training, Yayaya Tropical Fruit Village, Dadase Li and Miao Expo, the large-scale performance “Dreaming Back to Yanoda,” as well as supporting high-end private villas and affordable accommodations such as 3B hotels, guesthouses, campsites, and resorts. Currently, 300 million RMB has been invested to complete two scenic areas—Rainforest Valley and Dream Valley—connected by an 18-kilometer loop trail featuring American electric shuttle buses, eco-boardwalks, waterfall cableways, and high-quality tour buses.

Yanoda Scenic Area adheres to the ecological development philosophy of harmony between man and nature. Based on pristine natural landscapes, it protects and enhances the beautiful ecological environment of the area. Integrating outstanding cultural concepts such as “primitive ecological green culture, Li and Miao culture, South Medicine culture, and folk culture,” it has created a large-scale international eco-cultural leisure resort community. This destination blends rainforest totems, traditional culture, natural scenery, ethnic customs, leisure vacations, sightseeing entertainment, and ecological demonstration functions. It originates from nature, transcends it, and returns to it—a world-class tropical forest ecotourism brand.

Visiting Yanoda allows people to breathe in the fresh green air, chase the longing for greenery alongside the rainforest, and enter a timeless tunnel of spiritual dialogue that transcends eras and merges self with nature. Transportation

A. Hainan Public Transport Buses

Purchase a ticket to “Yanoda Scenic Area” at Sanya Bus Terminal (located between Jiefang Road Pedestrian Street and Wanghao Supermarket in Sanya), or follow the WeChat account “Haiqi Keyun” to buy your ticket directly. Get off at the scenic area’s new main gate. The fare is 14 RMB, and the journey takes approximately 45 minutes.

B. Scenic Area Shuttle Buses

Stop A: Departs from Dadonghai Yintai Hotel at 08:30, returns from the scenic area at 15:30

Stop B: Departs from the Sanya Bay area between 08:00–08:30, returns from the scenic area at 15:30

Stop C: Departs from the Yalong Bay area between 09:00–09:30, returns from the scenic area at 16:00

★ The Sanya Bay shuttle route is from Junlan Hotel to Haiyue Square (Jin Fenghuang Hotel); ★ the Yalong Bay shuttle route runs along the line from Cactus Resort Hotel to St. Regis Resort Hotel. Off-season gate price: 165 RMB (ticket: 125 RMB, sightseeing bus: 40 RMB); Peak season (starting October 1): gate price: 185 RMB (ticket: 125 RMB, sightseeing bus: 60 RMB); A. Children under 1.2 meters are exempt from ticket fees.

B. Children aged 1.2–1.5 meters, seniors aged 60–69 (with valid ID), students (with valid domestic full-time student ID), and local Hainan residents (with valid ID) can purchase discounted tickets for 118 RMB per person (includes ticket and sightseeing bus) at the scenic area.

C. Seniors over 70 (with valid ID), journalists (with a press card issued by the National Press and Publication Administration), people with disabilities (with a disability certificate issued by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation), and active-duty military personnel (with military officer or soldier ID) are exempt from ticket fees at the scenic area but must purchase a sightseeing bus ticket for 60 RMB per person.
