The Maozhen Reservoir (Shenyu Island) Water Conservancy Scenic Area is located in Xiangshui Town, Baoting Li and Miao Autonomous County. Built around Maozhen Reservoir, it is a reservoir-type water conservancy scenic area.

Shenyu Island is located within the Maozhen Reservoir National Water Conservancy Scenic Area in Baoting County. It is built around the lake and embraced by the mountains. The Guanhu Mountain Residence at Shenyu Academy has 24 guest rooms; the Lake Center Island Residence features 4 sets of serene suites; the Pillowwater Lake Residence includes 18 overwater wooden cottages. The environment is tranquil and elegant, with fresh, oxygen-rich air. Although the entire park is still under construction and upgrading, the scenery remains breathtaking: emerald-green lakes surrounded by rolling mountains, peaks emerging and fading amidst the mist, and the reflection of a Tai Chi symbol rippling on the water.

The Shenyu Island Cultural Tourism Resort is dedicated to developing the area as a core international premium leisure, fitness, and wellness destination, which includes traditional wellness activities such as Tai Chi and yoga. It has long been positioned as: a cultural sanctuary, a vacation paradise, a longevity haven, and a spiritual homeland. It is reported that the five major jade culture landscapes along the lakeside boardwalk on Shenyu Island form the world’s first art gallery set in nature. These landscapes seamlessly integrate the extraordinary essence of jade—its formation, history, beauty, virtue, and harmony—into the stunning natural scenery.
