Wild Arenga Pinnata Grove

Arenga pinnata is a tall palm species unique to Hainan. Mature trees can reach over 20 meters in height, with trunks more than 50 centimeters in diameter. The trunks and leaves are broad, flat, and emerald green, with feathery, long, and spreading fronds that can have up to 100 leaflets. Each fruit-bearing arenga pinnata tree produces thousands of fruits, resembling large clusters of grapes, with the heaviest bunch weighing up to half a ton. Arenga pinnata usually grows sporadically in jungles, but in the wild Arenga pinnata grove at Yannada, within an area of less than 4,000 square meters, there are hundreds of trees. Such a small area with such dense distribution of arenga pinnata is truly rare both domestically and internationally. In some sections, arenga pinnata trees make up over 90% of the vegetation, forming a unique grove landscape. Coupled with nearby streams and splashing waterfalls, it creates a uniquely charming arenga pinnata scenery.

Discount Policy

1. Children under 1.2 meters (including 1.2m) and those under 6 years old (including 6) may enter for free with valid documents such as a household registration book.

2. Children between 1.2 and 1.5 meters and those under 18 years old (including 18) may purchase discounted tickets with valid ID such as an identity card or household registration book.

3. Seniors aged 60–69 (with valid ID), students (with a valid student ID from domestic full-time undergraduate programs or below) may purchase discounted tickets.

4. Seniors aged 70 and above (with valid ID), people with disabilities (with a disability certificate issued by the China Disabled Persons’ Federation), journalists (with a press card issued by the National Radio and Television Administration), and active-duty military personnel (with valid military ID such as officer or soldier certificates) may enjoy free entrance and only need to pay 60 RMB for the round-trip sightseeing bus.

Note: Military personnel, journalists, students, people with disabilities, and seniors over 60 who are part of a tour group do not qualify for these discounts.
