“The red berries grow in southern land. How many load in spring the trees? Gather them till full is your hand; They would revive fond memories.” The red bean, also known as the love bean, has long been regarded as a symbol and token of love. People string red beans into necklaces, bracelets, and other jewelry to give to family and friends as expressions of love and friendship. In the Rainforest Valley, there is a pavilion called Tongting, surrounded by red bean trees. There is also a beautiful legend about Tongting. It is said that in ancient times, a man went off to war, and his wife prayed for him every day from a high mountain. One day, overwhelmed by longing, she couldn't help but cry. But what flowed from her eyes were not tears, but bright red drops of blood. These drops turned into red beans, took root, sprouted, and grew into large trees. As the seasons passed, when her husband finally returned, the tree was covered with beautiful red beans, and people began to call them love beans. The red beans of Hainan are as red as gemstones—some even have a black dot, resembling a teardrop of longing. Some are heart-shaped, like the passionate hearts of lovers. These delicate red beans seem to whisper that longing is both bitter and sweet, and that cherishing the bonds between people is the most beautiful thing of all.

Adult Ticket:

Peak Season (October – April of the following year): 185 RMB/person (includes 125 RMB entrance ticket + 60 RMB round-trip sightseeing bus),

Off-Peak Season (May – September): 165 RMB/person (includes 105 RMB entrance ticket + 60 RMB round-trip sightseeing bus).

Discounted Ticket:

Peak Season: 120 RMB/person (includes 60 RMB entrance ticket + 60 RMB round-trip sightseeing bus),

Off-Peak Season: 110 RMB/person (includes 50 RMB entrance ticket + 60 RMB round-trip sightseeing bus).

Discount Policy

1. Children under 1.2 meters (inclusive) and those under 6 years old (inclusive) may enter free of charge with a valid ID such as a household registration book.

2. Children between 1.2 and 1.5 meters and those under 18 years old (inclusive) may purchase discounted tickets with a valid ID such as an ID card or household registration book.

3. Seniors aged 60–69 (with valid ID), students (with a valid student ID from domestic full-time undergraduate programs or below) may purchase discounted tickets.

4. Seniors over 70 years old (with valid ID), people with disabilities (with a disability certificate issued by the China Disabled Persons' Federation), journalists (with a press card issued by the National Radio and Television Administration), and active-duty military personnel (with valid IDs such as military or soldier ID cards) may enter the scenic area free of charge and only need to pay 60 RMB for the round-trip sightseeing bus.

Note: Military personnel, journalists, students, people with disabilities, and seniors over 60 who are part of a tour group do not qualify for these discounts.
