Jinbo Lotus Base

The Jinbo Lotus Base is a demonstration project for poverty alleviation through industry and a model initiative for industrial restructuring in Huangtong Town.

Jinbo Village in Huangtong Town is about a half-hour drive from Lingao County. The village is developing a unique hundred-acre lotus base. Upon arriving at the lotus base, under the blazing sun, visitors can see clusters of lotus flowers blooming vibrantly, their fragrance wafting through the air, while dense lotus leaves turn the vast rice paddies into a contiguous expanse of green. The lotus base has also built wooden walkways surrounded by railings, where visitors stroll and play amidst the sea of flowers. Some can't help but pluck a few lotus blossoms to take a closer whiff of their sweet scent. As the lotus base has a romantic theme, several signs are placed among the flowers bearing phrases like “‘Lotus’ Fragrance Cherishes Beauty – A Perfect Shot with the Lotus” and “Love You for a Lifetime,” attracting visitors to stop and take photos.

Currently, the two-hundred-acre lotus base in Jinbo Village operates under an open management model and does not charge an entrance fee. The base offers both economic and aesthetic value, and its free admission attracts visitors from all over to Jinbo Village in Huangtong Town, Lingao County. To facilitate vehicle management, a small fee of 5 yuan is charged for car parking. Near the field ridges of the lotus base, entrepreneurial villagers have set up tents to sell cold drinks and local specialties. The lotus base has spurred the development of agritainment in Jinbo Village and helped open up sales channels for rural specialty products.
