Jigong Mountain is located within the state-owned Honggang Farm in Hainan Province. The statue of Jigong was discovered on August 12, 1993, about one kilometer from the farm headquarters. After evaluation by exploration experts from the Hainan Geological Brigade and approval by the Provincial Farm Reclamation Bureau, the "Jigong Mountain Scenic Area" development project was initiated. The Jigong Mountain Scenic Area covers 25 square kilometers and currently features over 50 discovered attractions. The area boasts uniquely shaped rocks, cleverly arranged formations, lifelike resemblances, lush and varying vegetation, and an aura of mystery. The naturally formed statue of the legendary figure Jigong is truly one of a kind.

When visiting Jigong Mountain, the first thing to admire is its naturally-formed, peculiar rocks and stones. Walk along the path through the dense woods at the mountain’s base, then climb up via the stone-paved trail. On the mountain lies a massive rock about six meters high — upon seeing it, one can’t help but exclaim, “Wow, it’s Jigong!” The shape of the rock, with its crooked and tattered hat, tall nose bridge, smiling eyes, comical mouth, and wobbly posture, closely resembles Jigong himself. The wonders of nature are truly miraculous. This "Jigong Mountain," whose semi-profile resembles Jigong, is as intriguing as the "Mao Rock" in Baoguo Farm, Ledong County, which strikingly resembles Mao Zedong lying on his back. As you explore different parts of the mountain, the variety of rock formations will amaze you even more with the ingenuity of nature. On one huge cliff, vertical stripes flow naturally from top to bottom, making the rock face look like a cascading waterfall despite there being no water. There is also a rectangular boulder whose proportions resemble a bed, hence named the "Immortal's Bed." Scattered across the area are uniquely shaped rocks resembling a monkey gazing at clouds, a turtle looking at the sky, an elephant poking its head out, a crocodile crawling forward... Each rock, upon closer inspection, looks strikingly like some animal, tool, or vessel.

At the foot of Jigong Mountain lies a small lake called Nanhu (South Lake), with winding shores surrounded by forest belts and crystal-clear waters. The lake has numerous islands covered with lush trees and filled with birdsong. Not far from Jigong Mountain is a hot spring with water temperatures around 50 degrees Celsius. The spring water contains minerals beneficial to human health. The water flows continuously year-round without interruption, making it a great spot for hot spring bathing. Legend has it that drinking the water of Nanhu can promote longevity. It is said that when Jigong passed through here during his travels, he drank from the lake, and the footprints and shoe prints left behind were from that time.

The naturally-formed Jigong Mountain, the perfectly situated Nanhu Lake, and the hot springs together create the beautiful Jigong Mountain Scenic Area.
