Chengmai Wenbi Peak Pagoda

Wenbi Peak Pagoda, also known as Wenfeng Pagoda, is located 2 kilometers north of Wenda Village in Majia Town. It was funded and built by the villagers of Wenda Village in the sixth year of the Chongzhen era of the Ming Dynasty (1633). The pagoda faces south and is a nine-story, four-cornered, pavilion-style stone tower. Its base is square, measuring 4.23 meters on each side, and the pagoda stands 10.5 meters tall. The interior is a hollow, inwardly winding staircase design. The four corners of the second floor feature carved figures of muscular deities bearing the weight, while the middle of the southern face of the fourth floor bears an inscribed stone plaque with the three characters “Wenbi Peak” (文笔峰) in intaglio. The pagoda was once surrounded by a railing and occupies a site area of 50 square meters. Standing beside the village, the pagoda adds charm to the landscape, symbolizing the aspirations for flourishing literary culture and nurturing talent.
