South Thailand Crocodile Zoo

The South Thailand Crocodile Zoo, located in the Old City Development Zone, covers an area of 1,900 acres. It is a China-Thailand joint venture registered and approved by the Hainan Provincial Administration for Industry and Commerce and operated by Hainan South Thailand Crocodile Zoo Co., Ltd. The company was established by Chengmai County Steel Reconstruction Industrial Co., Ltd. (the Chinese party, legal representative Li ChuanYe) and Thailand Yutai Crocodile Lake Co., Ltd. (the Thai party, legal representative Yang Haiquan), who signed the equity investment contract in Thailand on September 4, 1998, agreeing to jointly develop the project. Mr. Yang Yuteng, son of Mr. Yang Haiquan, was appointed as the legal representative of the crocodile lake zoo. The total investment of the project is 190 million RMB. Its main operations include crocodile breeding, reproduction, processing, and sales, along with agricultural tourism, South Thailand cultural performances, and animal shows featuring crocodiles, elephants, tigers, and more. Construction of the zoo began in September 1998. Attractions include an artificial waterfall, the Four-Faced Buddha, and an artificial crocodile lake. Viewing experiences include the Crocodile Show Theater, Tiger Show Theater, Elephant Show Theater, and Cultural Performance Theater. Entertainment options feature a children’s playground, tropical orchard, botanical garden, yacht club, and mangrove scenic area. The zoo has introduced 3,500 saltwater crocodiles, making it the largest crocodile farm in China. In addition, it houses other rare animals from China and abroad for visitors to see, including elephants, white tigers, white lions, sika deer, ponies, white-headed langurs, and white-handed gibbons.
