Xinyu Old Market boasts a serene and picturesque environment, with quaint traditional houses, stone-paved roads, and old streets. Local legend has it that Guling, about two kilometers south of the old market, is a feng shui treasure land. The nearby hills are dotted with many rock formations resembling animals, such as tiger-shaped rocks, drum-shaped rocks, turtle-shaped rocks, snake-shaped rocks, pig-shaped rocks, carp-shaped rocks, and basket-shaped rocks. Among them, the tiger-shaped rock is the most spectacular. In front of the tiger-shaped rock stands the Xian Tai Lady Temple (built in the early years of the Tongzhi reign during the Qing Dynasty), which remains well-preserved. Locals in Xinyu often come to burn incense and pray for peace and blessings at the temple during festivals and holidays. Zhang Yuesong, the first top scholar from Hainan during the Qing Dynasty, inscribed the four characters "Heroine of Her Time" on the tiger-shaped rock, adding to the graceful and ethereal charm of Xinyu Old Market. This makes it an ideal location for film and television shoots and sightseeing for travelers. After living in the hustle and bustle of the city for a long time, people often feel irritable and fatigued. Finding a peaceful ancient town, listening to the faint barking of dogs at night and the chorus of roosters at dawn, offers a different kind of enjoyment compared to the noisy traffic of urban life.
