Jinshan Cultural Park

Jinshan Temple is located on Gongyuan Road in Jinxing Town, Chengmai County (within Jinshan Park), nestled against the mountains and facing the water, boasting picturesque scenery. It is one of the largest Buddhist temples in Hainan. Originally built during the Hongwu era of the Ming Dynasty, the temple was destroyed in warfare on the eve of liberation and was rebuilt in 1993. The temple features classical Chinese architecture, with layered halls built along the mountainside, presenting a grand scale. It includes a bell tower, the Turtle Spirit Pond, a drum tower, a merit stele, the Heavenly King Hall, the Mahavira Hall, a calligraphy and painting corridor, various Buddhist statues, and more. The entire temple houses 42 golden statues, each exquisitely carved and unique in style, offering visitors and worshippers a visual feast and leaving them lingering with awe.

The temple and pagoda area currently under construction in Jinshan Park, Chengmai County, covers an area of approximately 93 mu. The main components of the project include: the Medicine Buddha Ten Thousand Buddhas Longevity Pagoda (89 meters high, with 13 above-ground floors and 2 basement levels), the Longevity Hall, the Wealth Buddha Hall, the Dharma Hall, the Meditation Courtyard, the Seven Treasures Lotus Pond, as well as supporting landscape features. The construction of this project will not only provide a leisure space for around 500,000 people but will also address the local residents’ demand for recreational, entertainment, and sightseeing venues in Chengmai County.
