The town hosts the largest and earliest-developed economic development zone in the province — the Laicheng Development Zone. To the east lies the Yuehai Railway Logistics Center, to the west there is the national first-class port cluster of Macun Port, to the north are the tourist resorts of Yingbin Holiday Village and Bianwan Beach, and to the south it connects with the Meiting Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale Market of the county. Both the West Ring Expressway and the Yuehai Railway run through the area.
